Benelli Leoncino 250 takes the design cues from its elder brother, the Leoncino 500

The Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Benelli has launched yet another naked scrambler styled bike in the country. All new Benelli Leoncino 250 has been priced at Rs 2.5 lakh ex-showroom, pan India. Benelli launched the bike with collaboration with Adishwar Auto Ride India which is a part of Mahavir Group. One can book the new Leoncino 250 for a fully refundable amount fo Rs 6,000 via the company’s official website.

The styling of the bike will remind you of its elder sibling, the Leoncino 500 which was launched a couple of months back. Benelli Leoncino 500 was priced at Rs 4.8 lakh ex-showroom, pan India. New Leoncino 250 will get a 3-year unlimited kilometer warranty as standard. That means, no hassle for at least 3 years.

Benelli Leoncino 250 is available in four color options – White, Grey, Red and, Brown.

Powering the neo-retro bike is a single-cylinder 249cc liquid-cooled engine with a 4-valve head. Fueled by electronic fuel injection system, this powerplant pumps out 25.3bhp at 9250rpm and 21Nm of twisting force which peaks at 8000rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Leoncino 250 features a full LED headlamp assembly but is different than the 500cc model. The instrument cluster is a fully digital unit and has good visibility under all lighting conditions.

Everything in the bike is held together by a steel trellis frame. The front suspension unit is a 41mm USD forks whereas the rear one is a mono-shock with pre-load adjust. Leoncino 250 rides on 17-inch tyres at both ends which are slapped with 110/70-R17 and 150/60-R17 section tyres at the front and the rear respectively.

Coming back the price, the bike is steeply-priced for a 250cc single-cylinder engine. The rivals of the Benelli Leoncino 250 are KTM 390 Duke (Rs 2.48 lakh), Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 (Rs 2.55 lakh) as well as CFMoto 300 NK which will set you back by Rs 2.29 lakh ex-showroom. The neo-retro bike could have been a deal had it been priced under Rs 2 lakh mark.
