Benelli is one of the oldest Italian motorcycle manufacturer ready with their fully faired sportsbike, the Tornado 302. Earlier it was stated that the bike will enter Indian market soon and the motorcycle was suppose to be launched at the 2016 Auto Expo in the month of February but as per recent report the arrival of the youngest member of Tornado’s family has been confirmed in India around June 2016 says DSK chief Shirish Kulkarni.
2016 Benelli Tornado 302 is powered by the 300 cc liquid-cooled inline twin-cylinder engine with 4-valves with a DOHC setup. The engine is featured to give a different output, It is developed to give 36.2 bhp at 12000rpm and 2.75 kg (26.9 Nm) of torque and is matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The Tornado 302 is the only twin-cylinder machine in the company’s Indian line-up and this will help the motorbike to take the market by storm.
Its motor produces 35.4 PS at 12,000 RPM which support a bike to meet emission norms and exhaust quieter. Here’s a great news for all, you can replace the exhaust with track oriented exhaust at the time of dealership which can take the power of tornado from 302 to 40PS.
It has a 14-litre of fuel capacity with 260mm twin floating discs with a 4-piston caliper brake at the front and a single 240mm disc with a single piston caliper brake for the rear. ABS as an option is available. It moreover, a handsome looking full fairing sports bike with house twin headlamp setup which does look futuristic. Cosmetically many changes can be seen on this machine from head to tail.
We will see if Tornado 302 launch in India will set new expectation and records for the brand and will it be easy for DSK Benelli to mark its place in Indian market?
I think this full faired motorbike will carve a special place in many motorcyclist’s mind, at least in India.
