Royal Enfield Himalayan ABS gets dual-channel ABS and becomes the brand’s second model to have ABS in India.
Royal Enfield Himalayan ABS has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 1,78,833 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The motorcycle gets dual-channel ABS offering better safety to the riders. This comes as the second model from Royal Enfield to have ABS in India, after the recently launched Classic Signals 350. The Royal Enfield Himalayan Sleet ABS is priced at Rs 1,80,699 (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
Royal Enfield Himalayan was launched in India with high expectation, but the motorcycle couldn’t fetch impressive sales result yet. Despite being a capable off-roader and the brand’s first purpose built motorcycle in India, Himalayan is yet to catch up the expectation of the brand. With the ABS, the brand hopes to see a brighter picture in coming days. Launch of the Royal Enfield Himalayan ABS comes in line with the brand’s strategy to introduce ABS in all of its models by 2020. Also, this makes the motorcycle compliant to upcoming stricter safety norms.
Currently, Royal Enfield is also gearing up to launch its much awaited Continental GT 650 and Interceptor INT 650 twins in India. Both the motorcycles will be launched here soon and ahead of that, Royal Enfield is attempting speed record on Bonneville Salt Flat during Bonneville Speed Week with the COntinental GT 650. With the demand for high performance and more powerful motorcycles increasing in India, launch of the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor INT 650 will certainly boost Royal Enfield’s appeal and sales in coming days.
