Jawa Forty Two is priced at Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it comes as a modern version of original Jawa.
Jawa Motorcycles has kicked start its new innings in India. The Czech motorcycle brand has re-entered the Indian market after more than two decades absence and the company has already garnered pretty good attention. The motorcycle manufacturer launched two models and promised to bring a third one soon. The Jawa and Jawa Forty Two are two models that are being offered initially by the Jawa Motorcycles.
While the Jawa comes bringing back the memory of the original iconic motorcycle, the Jawa Forty Two is a more modern version of the classic. It comes with some contemporary elements that make it more appealing. Here, we will take a close look at the Jawa Forty Two.
Design
The Jawa Forty Two carries typical classic motorcycle look blended with modern elements. It gets six different exciting colour options, that are – Halley’ Teal, Galactic Green, Starlight Blue Lumos Lime, Nebula Blue, and Comet Red. The motorcycle boasts retro themed round halogen headlamp, multispoke wheels, plenty of chrome garnishing, a long seat, twin exhausts, retro toolbox etc. There is a belly pan as well protecting the engine block from scratch. The 170 kg weighing motorcycle gets a 14-litre capacity fuel tank.
Technology and instrument
Speaking about the technology used in the Jawa Forty Two, it gets a round instrument cluster with digital display, liquid cooling technology, fuel injection tech and a future ready catalytic converter that will help the motorcycle to convert into BS-VI when needed.
Wheel, Brake and suspension
The Jawa Forty Two runs on 18-inch multispoke wheels wrapped in 90/90 section tyre, while rear boasts a 17-inch wheel wrapped with 120/80 section tyre. The motorcycle uses 280 mm front disc brake and a 153 mm rear drum unit combined with single channel ABS for stopping energy. Suspension duty is done by telescopic hydraulic front forks and rear gets twin hydraulic shock absorbers.
Engine and transmission
The Jawa Forty Two gets energy from a 293cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that is based on the Mahindra Mojo’s motor. This engine is good to belt out 27 bhp of peak power and 28 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty is done by a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox.
ARAI report says mileage would be 37km/ltr but what is the actual?
whether really getting the same?
i heared that getting 30km/ltr only in normal good condition road, is it so?
i have booked JAWA 42 about 3month back but now getting confusion.
what is your feedback about the same.
Yeah its real-world fuel economy is around 30-32 kmpl. This is because ARAI does the road tests under strict conditions like minimal gear changes and throttle control.
