Yamaha R15 V3 has received a dual channel ABS as it provides better safety than a single channel ABS. Dual prevents lock-up of both the wheels whereas the single channel does it only for the front wheel. In this case, the rear wheel is bound to lock-up under hard braking can cause the motorcycle to lose balance.

Bajaj and KTM have opted for single channel ABS for their entire line-up with Dominar and Duke/RS 390. Suzuki and Vespa and Honda also did the same for their ABS eligible Bikes. Two-wheeler manufacturers are opting for single channel ABS to keep cost under check.
Consequently, the prices of the ABS equipped models are set to increase. For a single channel ABS price increase is in the range of Rs 7000 for most models. However, a dual channel ABS will set you back by around Rs 12000. If the R15 V3’s price is hiked by Rs 12,000, it would push the ex-showroom price close to Rs 1.4 lakh.
